About
So what's with the name?
We love this question and it’s one that comes up frequently. With so much competition and so many staid sounding techy names around we knew it had to be something memorable. We think PurpleJelly helps us to stand out from the crowd and we like some of the associations too.
For starters, Purple is the colour of good judgement – a must in the world we work in. It’s also associated with creativity, independence, and magic and we like to think we weave a bit of this into the things that we do. It’s considered to be a peaceful colour which is particularly important in keeping a balanced mind and a calm team. Purple is also Thursday’s colour and we’d love to think that one day we could start the weekend early ... however we’ve yet to achieve this ... but it’s nice to dream!
There are all sorts of things associated with Jelly but our favourite has to be about Jelly Babies. These were launched by Bassett’s in 1918 and originally known as “Peace Babies” to mark the end of World War 1. Production was suspended during WW2 due to wartime shortages and the product was relaunched in 1953 as Jelly Babies. We’re rather partial to them too!
