My Skills & Expertise

Jordan joined Purplejelly back in 2015 as a 2nd line Engineer moving from IT Support in a secondary school with a network of around 1100 users. Since being with Purplejelly Jordan has advanced too become our 3rd Line Engineer Solutions Architect.

As such his main roles include:

  • Day to day support of end users via phone, email and on-site support
  • Dealing with tickets escalated through our ticketing system & network operations centre
  • Research and development of new technologies & solutions in order to keep Purplejelly at the front of technology
  • Network architecture of existing & new clients
  • Standardisation of our customers networks to ensure optimal support
  • Remedial work for onboarding new customers

Some technologies he specialises in are as follows:

  • Network infrastructure – Routers, Firewalls, Switches, Wireless access points
  • VLANs – The segmentation of a network in order to provide increased security & performance
  • Windows Server – Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, WSUS, Group Policy, Exchange, File Servers, Hyper-V, Failover clustering, MPIO, Remote Desktop & Virtual Desktop Services
  • Linux – Web servers (LEMP & LAMP stacks), Vyatta, Kali, LDAP, OpenVPN, MTR & Nagios

In his spare time Jordan likes to pretend that he is capable of performing “DIY” projects around the house though he’s definitely much more suited behind a keyboard instead of a drill.
